Our First Year in Review

The Institute of Philanthropy (“IoP”) was established by The Hong Kong Jockey Club and its Charities Trust to support the growth of philanthropy, giving back nationally, regionally, and globally. As a global “Think-Fund-Do” tank, anchored in the East for the world, we work towards the betterment of societies everywhere through impactful philanthropy. Discover highlights from our inaugural year.

From the Secretary-General

The Institute of Philanthropy was created to promote philanthropic thought leadership and enhance the philanthropic sector’s capabilities at national, regional, and international levels.

Our inaugural year has been one of trusted partnerships and collaboration. We commenced a landmark initiative with 13 of Asia’s leading foundations to drive multi-year research to build an “in Asia, for Asia” ecosystem. We also committed funds towards national priorities, strengthening health systems, and building climate resilience. We convened diverse voices across philanthropy, policy, and global institutions to accelerate solutions to complex social challenges—all while reinforcing Hong Kong’s role as a hub for collaboration and exchange.

Looking ahead, IoP will continue to expand its reach, foster innovation, and build the networks and knowledge needed to ensure philanthropy delivers lasting impact. We invite you to explore the report and continue this journey with us as we work together for the betterment of societies everywhere.
